Key Takeaways
Patna, Dec 30 (NationPress) A wave of concern has swept through the Bihar Revenue and Land Reforms Department due to the stringent measures enforced by Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha.
The atmosphere has become tense, prompting several officials to express their apprehension by reaching out to the Governor and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for intervention.
However, Vijay Kumar Sinha firmly declared that he will not yield to any external pressures.
In response to the unrest among officials, the Deputy Chief Minister stated on Tuesday that the government's actions are solely for the benefit of the public and not intended to harm anyone.
“Our intentions are completely transparent. The aim is to reform the Revenue and Land Reforms Department to better serve the public,” he emphasized.
Pointing to the Muzaffarpur land scam, Vijay Sinha noted that agricultural land was wrongfully transferred with the collusion of certain officials.
He recalled that during his previous role as Agriculture Minister, he had ordered action against the Circle Officer (CO) implicated and mandated that an appeal be pursued in court.
“Now, as the Revenue Minister, I have renewed my focus on this issue, and those who create unnecessary disputes over undisputed government land will face consequences,” Sinha affirmed.
Regarding officials taking leave during public engagement events of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department in districts, Vijay Sinha remarked, “Once systemic reforms are put in place, the welfare of everyone—including law-abiding officials—will be safeguarded.”
Since taking charge of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, Vijay Kumar Sinha has been proactive.
He has been convening district-wise meetings and making on-the-spot decisions.
Addressing a query about Naxalism, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha stated that under the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Naxalism has been nearly eradicated from the nation.
He added that if governance is maintained under such leadership across all states, the issues of Naxalism and extremism could be effectively eliminated.
