Chairperson Prof. Apsara is set to visit Jehanabad on Wednesday, January 21, to meet the family of the deceased and evaluate the circumstances on-site.
Prof. Apsara has formally addressed the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Patna, urging immediate action against those responsible and requesting a thorough investigation report to be presented to the Commission.
She emphasized that the Commission is vigilantly overseeing the case and assured that no one culpable will evade justice.
As a result of the Commission’s intervention, the hostel operator has been apprehended, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been established to examine the matter.
The victim, a resident of Jehanabad district, was preparing for the NEET examination while residing at a hostel in Patna.
Her death under dubious circumstances has sparked widespread outrage and protests among students and social organizations across the state.
In a significant update, ADG (CID) Parasnath stated that it is too early to disclose details until the investigation is concluded.
“This entire matter is under investigation. It would not be appropriate to make any detailed information public at this stage,” the ADG remarked while addressing the media.
He elaborated that technical and scientific examinations take time, especially regarding DNA analysis.
“Most of the testing process is expected to be completed within the next three to four days. DNA reports may take five to six days, depending on available resources,” he indicated.
When questioned about the specific date of the student’s admission to Prabhat Memorial Hospital, the ADG stated he did not possess confirmed information at that moment but assured that every aspect is being meticulously investigated.
The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has conducted a comprehensive investigation at the hostel where the student resided.
The FSL team gathered vital evidence from the scene that could assist in uncovering the truth.
This case has ignited a political uproar, with opposition factions accusing the government of administrative shortcomings and delayed responses.
Student organizations and social groups have ramped up protests, demanding prompt justice for the victim.
