New Delhi, Sep 15 (NationPress) As preparations intensify for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming visit to the politically charged state of Bihar on Monday, excitement is palpable. With several major initiatives poised for inauguration in Purnea, Union Minister Chirag Paswan commended the Modi government’s dedication to advancing Bihar’s development and stated that every visit by the Prime Minister brings significant benefits. He also criticized those who attribute electoral motives to his trips.
In anticipation of the Prime Minister’s arrival, Patna and Purnea are adorned with posters and banners, while extensive security and logistical arrangements are underway.
Chirag Paswan, prior to the Prime Minister’s trip to Bihar, took aim at the Opposition while lauding PM Modi’s ongoing commitment to development in the region.
“While the Opposition may continue their political games, the reality is that Bihar has received two AIIMS hospitals, and today marks the inauguration of Purnea Airport following the opening of Patna Airport. Each time the Prime Minister visits Bihar, he brings gifts worth crores for the state,” stated Paswan.
Similarly, BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain remarked, “PM Modi will unveil Bihar’s fourth airport in Purnea. The public is thrilled. Work on the expressway from Patna to Purnea is progressing rapidly. The Prime Minister is not merely inaugurating one project; multiple development initiatives are being launched. Bihar stands proudly with PM Modi.”
The inauguration of the newly constructed interim terminal building at Purnea Airport represents a crucial advancement in Bihar’s aviation infrastructure, establishing it as the state’s fourth airport.
This airport is anticipated to enhance regional connectivity, facilitate travel in northeastern Bihar, and stimulate trade, tourism, and job opportunities in the area.
In addition to the airport, PM Modi will launch the National Makhana Board, aimed at boosting makhana production and market access for farmers in Bihar, particularly in districts like Madhubani, Darbhanga, and Purnea. He will also lay the foundation stone for the Pirpainti thermal power plant in Bhagalpur, valued at ₹25,000 crore, and kick off the Kosi-Mechi river interlinking project for improved irrigation and flood control.
His itinerary also includes the inauguration of several railway projects, the launch of new trains, and the distribution of ₹500 crore in Community Investment Funds under the DAY-NRLM scheme to women-led federations. This visit is seen as a significant boost for the region's development.
