Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, April 17 (NationPress) The newly appointed Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, representing the Janata Dal-United (JD-U), refuted claims of a migration crisis in the state. He stated that individuals often travel to various states and even countries seeking employment opportunities.
Yadav further highlighted that the administration, led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, will prioritize employment generation through industrial development, with a key emphasis on the agro-based sector.
In an exclusive conversation with IANS, he affirmed the continuity of the NDA despite the departure of former Chief Minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar. He remarked, "The mandate was awarded to the NDA. Under the guidance of Nitish Kumar, the NDA remains intact, and this will persist in the future. Elections are contested by parties, not governments," he stated.
Regarding the government's agenda, Yadav remarked, "We will stay committed to fulfilling the promises made by our former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the period of 2025-2030, as outlined in our election manifesto."
He also mentioned the government's dedication to enhancing infrastructure across air, rail, road, and waterways.
Yadav assured that existing government initiatives will continue, while new schemes will be introduced as well.
Reiterating the focus on industrial growth for job creation, he emphasized, "Our main attention will be on industries that bolster employment opportunities, particularly in the agro-based sector. Other initiatives will also proceed as planned."
He dismissed the notion that youth migration poses a challenge in the state, stating, "In our region, there are two to three lakh individuals from Punjab, Haryana, and western UP engaged in agriculture. People globally seek employment in different locations; I am unsure of where this term migration arises from," he asserted.
Additionally, Yadav mentioned that the 'Krishi road map' initiated by Nitish Kumar will continue to support the rise in farmers' income.
On the topic of the Women's Reservation Bill, he stated, "The initial model for women's reservation was introduced by Nitish Kumar during the panchayat elections, establishing quotas in Panchayati Raj and municipal corporations."
He further asserted, "The initiatives taken for women in Bihar serve as a model for others."
As for the possibility of JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar returning to governance in Bihar, Yadav remarked, "Who is preventing him? Currently, Nitish Kumar has chosen to be in Delhi and join the Rajya Sabha."
