Patna, April 17 (NationPress) In response to the Opposition's claims that the newly formed government contradicts the public mandate, the newly appointed Bihar Deputy Chief Minister, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, emphasized on Thursday that the NDA remains intact even after the resignation of former Chief Minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar. During an interview with IANS, he highlighted the importance of political parties, rather than governments, in electoral contests.

IANS: What are your main priorities following the establishment of the new government in Bihar?

Yadav: We aim to fulfill the commitments made by our previous Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the years 2025-2030 as outlined in our election manifesto. Our goal is to enhance the prosperity of Bihar, with a strong focus on infrastructure and connectivity through air, rail, roads, and water.

IANS: Will the new NDA administration continue with the initiatives from the previous term?

Yadav: Absolutely, all existing schemes will be upheld, and we will also introduce new initiatives.

IANS: One of the major goals of Nitish Kumar's administration was to create job opportunities. What actions will the new government take in this regard?

Yadav: Our focus will be on boosting industries, particularly in the agro-based sector, to generate employment. Other initiatives will remain ongoing.

IANS: What measures are being considered to reduce the out-migration of youth from Bihar?

Yadav: In our region, many individuals from Punjab, Haryana, and western Uttar Pradesh have settled and are involved in agriculture. Movement for job opportunities is common globally, so I question the term 'migration' in this context.

IANS: What is the government's strategy to enhance farmers' income?

Yadav: The 'Krishi road map' initiated by Nitish Kumar will be continued.

IANS: With the implementation of the Women’s Reservation Bill 2023, what is your stance on women's empowerment and reservation?

Yadav: Nitish Kumar was the pioneer of women’s reservation during the panchayat elections, advocating for it in Panchayati Raj and municipal bodies. The initiatives undertaken for women in Bihar set a benchmark. Furthermore, provisions for youth and children, like bicycles and uniforms, have been made.

IANS: The Opposition alleges that the government formation is against the public's mandate. What is your response to this?

Yadav: The NDA received the mandate. Under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, the NDA is alive and will persist into the future. It is parties that contest elections, not the government.

IANS: Is there a possibility of Nitish Kumar rejoining the government in the future?

Yadav: There are no barriers to that. However, Nitish Kumar has chosen to focus on his responsibilities in Delhi and the Rajya Sabha.
