Kolkata, April 5 (NationPress) Two prominent leaders from the BJP in West Bengal asserted on Saturday that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is attempting to mislead the populace regarding the cancellation of 25,753 school jobs due to a recent Supreme Court ruling, by continually placing blame on others.

They further accused the Chief Minister of employing a similar tactic of confusion as she reportedly did in the tragic case of a junior doctor who was raped and murdered at the state-run R.G. Kar Medical College & Hospital in Kolkata last August.

“The Chief Minister is dodging the fundamental question of why her government failed to distinguish between the 'tainted' individuals who secured jobs through financial means and the 'genuine' candidates. She is aware that the public sentiment is turning against her and her party due to both the R.G. Kar tragedy and the job losses. Consequently, she is trying to mislead the populace by blaming everyone but herself and her administration for this debacle. She attempted to sow confusion during the R.G. Kar incident as well,” stated Dilip Ghosh, former national vice-president of the BJP and ex-Lok Sabha member, while addressing the media on Saturday.

Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of the opposition in the state assembly, contended that the state government intentionally failed to separate the “tainted” candidates from the “genuine” ones, as this would expose the Trinamool Congress leaders who allegedly profited from job placements.

“The subsequent orders from the Calcutta High Court and the Supreme Court have clarified everything. This has left the Chief Minister perplexed, which is why she is now trying to confuse others with her misleading remarks,” the opposition leader added.

In response, Trinamool Congress leaders claimed that the BJP is engaging in political maneuvering instead of showing compassion for those about to lose their jobs, predicting that the party will face rejection from the people of West Bengal, just as it has in previous elections.

The crucial assembly elections in West Bengal are slated for next year.
