Belagavi (Karnataka), Jan 16 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP has leveled serious allegations against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, claiming he is engaged in a plot to weaken the federal structure of the nation.

During a press briefing on Friday, BJP State President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra criticized Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, asserting that his frequent references to the Constitution and federalism indicate a clear intent to destabilize the federal system.

Vijayendra highlighted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, significant reforms have been introduced, such as the transformation of MNREGA into the VB-G RAM G scheme, aimed at aiding the underprivileged and laborers of the country.

However, he accused the Karnataka government of calling a special Assembly session merely to express its hostility toward the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, rather than focusing on the welfare of the people.

He stated that the government's actions are tarnishing the integrity of the Legislative Assembly, as it is being misused to stir public sentiment against the Central government, a move that the BJP vehemently opposes.

When asked about Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy's potential return to state politics, Vijayendra defended him, stating that Kumaraswamy has previously served the state as Chief Minister and has every right to return.

Vijayendra urged the Chief Minister to reflect on the government’s accomplishments during its nearly three-year tenure and to focus on implementing pro-people initiatives.

In response to queries regarding the padayatra, he clarified that there is no internal discord within the party and that any decisions must be communicated to the central leadership.

He discussed ongoing preparations for the upcoming Greater Bengaluru Authority elections and indicated that he would be in Delhi on January 19 and 20 to engage with the central leadership regarding party matters.

He reiterated that while he has no personal objections to the padayatra, strategic planning for future elections is essential.
