Chennai, Nov 6 (NationPress) The president of Tamil Nadu BJP, Nainar Nagenthran, has issued a vehement statement accusing the DMK government of criminal negligence following the tragic death of a young man who fell into an open pit intended for bridge construction in Erode district.
The victim, Yoganathan from Perundurai, reportedly lost his life when his two-wheeler plunged into a deep pit created for ongoing bridge work.
Nagenthran labeled the incident as shocking and tragic, charging the DMK-led government with gross negligence and a blatant disregard for public safety.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the grieving family and pray for the soul of the departed. The state government must promptly offer adequate compensation to Yoganathan's family,” Nagenthran stated.
He recalled a similar incident from a few months back near Dharapuram, where a couple tragically died and their daughter was severely injured after their vehicle fell into a 12-foot-deep pit.
“The recurrence of such tragedies starkly illustrates the DMK government's ongoing indifference to public safety,” he asserted.
Nagenthran criticized authorities for their failure to install safety barricades or warning signs at the construction site, which endangered unsuspecting commuters.
“Leaving an excavation site unprotected is pure negligence. Is this the model of 'Good Governance' that the ruling party boasts about?” he questioned.
The BJP leader accused the state administration of either neglecting to provide proper infrastructure, such as roads and bridges, or executing projects irresponsibly through corrupt practices.
“The government either neglects the public by failing to develop infrastructure or by implementing it through unscrupulous contractors who prioritize profit over safety and quality. In either scenario, the common citizen bears the brunt,” he remarked.
Concluding his statement, Nagenthran asserted that what the ruling party refers to as a 'Golden Rule' is, in reality, a 'Murderous Regime'.
“This is not a government dedicated to welfare and progress, but one fraught with death and negligence,” he declared, demanding accountability and swift action from Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
