New Delhi, Aug 3 (NationPress) BJP national spokesperson and MP Sambit Patra criticized the Congress ecosystem for its apparent aim to tarnish Sanatan Dharma, referencing the recent controversial remarks made by NCP-SP MLA Jitendra Awhad.
During a press briefing, Patra stated, "Awhad, a representative from Maharashtra affiliated with Sharad Pawar's party, has once again resorted to using offensive language towards Sanatan Dharma. He claimed that Sanatan Dharma has devastated India and suggested that such a religion never existed."
In his rebuke of the MLA, Patra remarked, "You have disrespected the truth, criticized Shiva, and undermined the essence of India—an India that thrives on reverence for all. I urge Sharad Pawar and his daughter Supriya Sule, a fellow MP, to clarify whether this reflects the official stance of your party or if it's merely Awhad's personal view."
Patra held the Congress ecosystem accountable for this latest act of disrespect towards Sanatan Dharma.
"The drive for appeasement seems to compel the entire Congress ecosystem to make such inflammatory statements repeatedly," he remarked.
He accused them of seeking to insult Sanatan Dharma, aiming to abolish it and deliberately using phrases like "Hindu terrorist" and "Saffron terrorist."
Patra also targeted Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan for employing terms like "Hindu terrorist or Sanatan terrorist."
"In no other part of the world does the majority community face such attacks and mockery as intolerant," he stated.
Patra emphasized the significance of Sanatan Dharma, noting that its followers are expressing their dissent against such provocative comments through this press conference.
"I believe Sharad Pawar and his daughter Supriya Sule should question Jitendra Awhad on who the true intolerant is and what behavior is expected in our nation," he concluded.
Following the acquittal of all seven accused in the 2008 Malegaon blasts, NCP-SP legislator Awhad ignited controversy by asserting that "Sanatan Dharma's ideology is twisted and has harmed the country."
