Chandigarh, Nov 16 (NationPress) The BJP's Punjab unit working President, Ashwani Sharma, expressed strong disapproval regarding the tragic murder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) volunteer Naveen Arora in Ferozepur.
Naveen, a dedicated third-generation volunteer, was the grandson of esteemed RSS leader and social worker, the late Dina Nath, and the son of Baldev Raj Arora.
On Saturday evening, he was reportedly shot by two assailants on a motorcycle.
The unfortunate event unfolded as 32-year-old Naveen, who operated a shop in the main bazaar, was making his way home.
Authorities indicated that the attackers fired at him near the Baba Noor Shah Wali dargah. One bullet struck his head, leading to his immediate transfer to a private hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The family has opted against cremation as they demand justice.
Characterizing the incident as “neither the first nor an isolated occurrence”, BJP’s Sharma remarked that the ongoing murders and crimes aimed at businesspeople, athletes, youth, and ordinary citizens raise alarming doubts about the state government's ineffective governance.
He pointed out that the state administration has demonstrated complete failure in addressing law and order issues, asserting that the BJP will not remain silent regarding the safety of innocent citizens.
“This incident illustrates how the confidence of criminals has increased under the current government’s reign,”
he stated with concern, adding that “the residents of Punjab no longer feel secure anywhere.”
Furthermore, he commented, “Rather than ensuring public safety, the Punjab Police have been redirected to assist AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and his team from Delhi, which is contrary to public interest.”
Sharma affirmed that the BJP will persist in its battle against this escalating wave of crime and continue to advocate for stringent actions to restore peace and security in the state.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the Arora family, pledging all possible assistance in their pursuit of justice.
