Patna, May 5 (NationPress) A gruesome murder was discovered in a village located on the outskirts of Patna on Monday morning, following another violent incident that occurred on Sunday. These two murders within a 24-hour period have sent shockwaves through Patna and heightened concerns about the law-and-order situation in Bihar.
The victim, identified as Nawab Rai, resided in Laharia village under the Athmalgola police station in Patna district. His body was found in an agricultural field, exhibiting multiple injuries.
Confirming the incident, Abhishek Singh, SDPO-2 of Barh range, stated, “Upon receiving the report, we promptly reached the scene and retrieved the body from the field.”
A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has been summoned to gather evidence from the location.
Currently, an investigation is underway to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the murder.
In the aftermath, numerous villagers congregated at the scene, voicing their anger and demanding the swift capture of the suspect.
This event has instigated fear within the community.
“We have recovered the body and sent it for a post-mortem examination at Barh sub-divisional hospital. While we await the reports, it appears that the victim was assaulted with blunt objects,” Singh remarked.
“We are examining the deceased's mobile phone for potential leads. An FIR has been filed under appropriate murder-related sections against unknown individuals at the Athmalgola police station,” Singh added.
Authorities have pledged that proper measures will be taken once initial investigations are concluded.
Previously, on Sunday, another man was murdered in Bisarpura village under the Naubatpur police station in Patna district. The victim was identified as Ranjit Singh.
Dipak Kumar, SDPO of Phulwarisharif range, reported that the victim's cousin attacked him with a blunt object.
“The victim suffered serious injuries and was transported to AIIMS hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries on Sunday night,” Kumar stated.
“The perpetrator is currently at large. We are actively working to apprehend him, and an FIR of murder has been filed against him,” Kumar concluded.
