Patna, Jan 27 (NationPress) A Food Corporation of India (FCI) employee, Rajdev Rai, aged 45, was discovered dead late Sunday night in Chhitnawa village, falling under the jurisdiction of Maner police station.
Rai, who lived in Daudpur Baghicha within the Shahpur police station area, had ties to property transactions.
Local villagers found his body in a pool of blood in an abandoned area and immediately alerted the police.
A significant crowd gathered at the scene as events unfolded.
After being informed, the Maner police station in-charge promptly arrived and coordinated the transfer of the body to Danapur Sub-Divisional Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
According to Patna SP (West) Sarath R.S., the police have launched an investigation into the case. They have deployed a dog squad and a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to conduct a comprehensive inquiry. Initial findings indicate that the murder may be linked to Rai's land dealings. Authorities are working diligently to identify and capture the suspect(s),” he stated.
In a separate incident, another individual, Buchchai Murmu, was found slain on Monday night in Kushha village, within the Sarsi police station area of Purnea district.

A relative, Bhagwan Murmu, claimed that some familiar faces from the village were connected to this crime, motivated by a land disagreement. Upon notification, Sarsi police arrived at the scene and transported the body for a post-mortem at GMCH.
Following a formal complaint from the family, an FIR has been lodged against two suspects — Ravish and Shankar.
Manish Yadav, the Sarsi police station in-charge, confirmed this update. “We have registered a case based on the family's written complaint against Shankar and Ravish. Both suspects have fled the area, and police are conducting operations to apprehend them,” he stated.
