Is Tejashwi Yadav Really Dreaming Again About Becoming CM on Nov 18?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Nov 3 (NationPress) With only a few days left before the initial phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, political tensions have escalated following RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan’s chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav’s bold statement that he would assume the role of Chief Minister on November 18.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai ridiculed the RJD chief, commenting, “Tejashwi Yadav claims he will take the oath as Chief Minister on the 18th; it seems he is lost in another fantasy. Just as he believed after the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections from November 7 to November 10 that he would be Chief Minister for two days, he is dreaming that dream once more, but it is one that will remain unfulfilled.”
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary also made a sarcastic remark at Tejashwi, saying, “The manner in which Lalu Yadav pressured Congress to name his son as Chief Minister will not be welcomed by the public. Tejashwi is proclaiming his oath-taking date, yet it is the voters who will ultimately decide — only then will the oath be taken.”
While addressing an election rally on Sunday, Tejashwi asserted, “The Bihar assembly poll results will be revealed on November 14, and the swearing-in ceremony will occur on November 18.”
He expressed optimism regarding the opposition coalition’s prospects, asserting that the INDIA bloc will establish the next government in Bihar.
This exchange of words intensifies amid increased political activity following the arrest of former Mokama MLA and JDU candidate Anant Singh, linked to the murder of Dular Chand Yadav, a supporter of Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party.
Tejashwi also addressed the murder of Dular Chand Yadav and the subsequent detention of Mokama strongman Anant Singh, claiming that once the INDIA bloc takes power, “criminals, regardless of caste or religion, will be incarcerated within weeks.”
As the campaign intensifies, Tejashwi’s audacious forecast and the BJP’s fierce counter-replies set the stage for a dramatic electoral showdown, with both sides exchanging barbs leading up to voting day.
Voting in Bihar is scheduled for two phases on November 6 and 11, with results to be declared on November 14.
