Ballari (Karnataka), Jan 17 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP plans to conduct a significant protest advocating for the arrest of Congress MLA Nara Bharath Reddy, linked to the death of a Congress worker, along with a request for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take over the case.
The demonstration is scheduled to occur in Ballari city, with the police department implementing extensive security measures due to the gravity of the situation.
BJP MLA and mining mogul Gali Janardhana Reddy announced that the party will initiate a series of protests against the government, with Saturday's rally marking the first phase of their campaign.
Reddy asserted, "The mob arrived with private gunmen, having systematically planned to assault my residence. What transpired that day was unprecedented in Ballari's history and the state's. The Congress worker was killed during this incident."
"The government has apprehended three gunmen associated with MLA Bharat Reddy. Why hasn't he been detained yet?" he questioned.
"The police clarified that we do not employ private gunmen; we have government-sanctioned security. Only criminals utilize private gunmen," Reddy emphasized.
He also remarked, "D.K. Shivakumar, who holds the roles of Deputy Chief Minister and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) chief, has declared his support for Nara Bharath Reddy. If so, how can the police justify arresting him? We doubt they will take any action against Reddy."
"During my administration, the Ballari area thrived. Residents and industrialists can attest to this. Under Janardhana Reddy, it flourished. However, from Ballari to Karnataka, it has devolved into a republic under Congress' governance," Reddy claimed.
Former Deputy CM Govind Karjol stated that the Siddaramaiah-led government has been in power for 2.5 years, and the public is dissatisfied due to poor governance.
"Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be the last CM from the Congress party in Karnataka. Nara Bharath Reddy should have been arrested, yet instead, charges have been filed against the innocent," he expressed.
