Mumbai, May 21 (NationPress) Shiv Sena(UBT) criticized the BJP and Shiv Sena on Wednesday regarding the appointment of veteran NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal to the council of ministers. They argued that those who previously condemned him must now embrace their past criticisms and collaborate with him in the cabinet.
“Bhujbal, who once championed the identity of Maharashtra, endured imprisonment and passionately advocated for the issues affecting the Marathi community, has now joined the Maharashtra opposition (Mahayuti) and taken on a ministerial role in the twilight of his career. This situation can be termed a tragedy. His cabinet inclusion represents a setback not only for him but for many others as well. Fadnavis and Eknath Mindhe (Shinde) had a history of political rivalry with Bhujbal and had openly opposed his cabinet entry. However, with Bhujbal now holding a ministerial position, they have no choice but to sit alongside him,” noted Shiv Sena(UBT) in the editorial of its publication, Saamana.
“A significant challenge has arisen in Deputy Chief Minister Mindhe's (Shinde) life, compelling him to approach his party leader Amit Shah with concerns. Devendra Fadnavis has welcomed Chhagan Bhujbal into the cabinet, and from now on, Eknath Mindhe will have to align himself with Bhujbal.” The Shiv Sena(UBT) has reminded Deputy CM Shinde of his previous inquiries to former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray regarding his feelings about sharing cabinet meetings with Bhujbal, who had previously imprisoned Hindu Hruday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray. How can he not feel ashamed about this?
The Thackeray faction intensified its criticism of Deputy CM Shinde, emphasizing that he had declared he would not collaborate with those who had arrested the former Shiv Sena chief. “Now, Amit Shah and Fadnavis have placed Mindhe (Shinde) in a predicament; if he is genuinely loyal to Shiv Sena chief, he should resign. Otherwise, he will have no choice but to work alongside Bhujbal in the cabinet. Shinde-Mindhe not only attended Bhujbal's oath-taking ceremony but also honored him with a bouquet. Bhujbal's entry into the cabinet serves as a warning to Mindhe and his associates,” the editorial claimed.
“Initially, when Bhujbal was excluded from the cabinet, he created a stir, claiming that it was an injustice to the OBC community. He vowed not to remain silent, but after not being granted a ministerial position during the cabinet expansion on December 15 last year, he adhered to Fadnavis' advice and remained quiet,” the editorial added.
“Fadnavis previously mentioned that Bhujbal has not been acquitted (in the money laundering case) but has merely been released on bail. However, the current scenario sees both Bhujbal and Ajit Pawar in Fadnavis' cabinet. BJP leaders are solidifying the foundations of corruption while painting a façade of integrity,” the editorial claimed.
“They (BJP) would accuse individuals of corruption, imprison them, and assert they would never associate with them. The Bharatiya Janata Party's strategy is to deceive the populace by integrating them into the party for power. Fadnavis and Mindhe were previously disdainful of Ajit Pawar and Bhujbal, but time has taken an ironic toll on both. Bhujbal faced accusations of money laundering from the Enforcement Directorate. BJP leader Kirit Somaiya leveled numerous allegations against Bhujbal, instigated by Fadnavis and others. Now, the very same corrupt Somaiya will be seen alongside Bhujbal,” the Thackeray camp stated.
“Gulab Patil (cabinet minister) from the Mindhe group and legislator Suhas Kande from Nandgaon had even initiated a campaign against Bhujbal. Patil publicly claimed that Bhujbal is akin to Asaram. Now, individuals like Mindhe will have to bow down to Bhujbal in the cabinet. Bhujbal has served as the Guardian Minister of Nashik for numerous years, bringing extensive administrative experience. Fadnavis is currently guiding him. Henceforth, Bhujbal will heed the directions of Fadnavis and his leadership will come from Amit Shah,” the editorial concluded.
