BJP Youth Leader Files Fraud Allegation Against Spouse in Bihar

Patna, Dec 11 (NationPress) A prominent member of the BJP's Youth Wing in Bihar has approached law enforcement, claiming his wife and her relatives have committed fraud against him.

"I entered into matrimony with a woman from Ganga Babu Chowk on April 19. Initially, the marriage was conducted in a court, followed by a ceremony at the Ikorchala temple in accordance with Hindu traditions," stated the complainant Rakesh Gupta at the Town police station in Kishanganj, leading to the filing of an FIR.

Gupta provided the marriage certificate bearing the court's seal as proof of their legal union. Following the nuptials, a lavish 'Bahu Bhoj' (welcome feast) was organized at a local restaurant on May 10, as per police reports.

"After our marriage, my in-laws prohibited the bride from residing at my residence. When I addressed this issue with them, they disregarded my concerns," Gupta elaborated in his complaint.

He alleged that the bride's family received between Rs 30 to Rs 35 lakh and land from him, after which she seemingly 'vanished'.

"When I inquired with my wife's family about her location, they informed me that she had gone missing," he remarked.

In contrast, the bride's mother offered a different narrative.

She refuted the claim of marriage, asserting it was merely an engagement.

Furthermore, she clarified that on December 6, they had traveled to Siliguri for medical care, and upon returning, they discovered their daughter was missing. The bride's mother also denied accepting any monetary or land gifts from Rakesh Gupta.

Law enforcement has commenced an investigation, as the case remains under examination with both sides presenting conflicting accounts.

The situation escalated when evidence of Gupta's wife's second marriage came to light.

Gupta, who accused his in-laws of deceit, was taken aback upon seeing a photograph of his wife in wedding attire with another man, validating her second marriage.

This shocking revelation drove Gupta to visit the bride's residence, where he caused a commotion and threatened to pursue legal action against his wife and her family.

He also claimed that a young man from Bengal had been deceived by the same family nine months prior.

Kishanganj SDPO Gautam Kumar acknowledged the gravity of the situation and confirmed that an inquiry is ongoing.

"The situation warrants investigation. The Hindu Marriage Act permits only one marriage. If any violations are discovered, appropriate actions will be taken against those culpable," Kumar asserted.
