Jaipur, Jan 26 (NationPress) The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great zeal and patriotic spirit at the state headquarters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jaipur, where the party's Rajasthan unit President Madan Rathore and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma raised the national flag.
In his Republic Day message to the people of Rajasthan, Rathore highlighted that January 26 signifies the enactment of the Constitution of India, which established the foundation for the world's largest democracy.
He emphasized that the BJP is the only political party in the nation that has genuinely honored and upheld the Constitution.
According to him, "The BJP has consistently strived to give utmost respect to the Constitution and to embody its essence in governance."
Rathore pointed out that the Constitution imparts lessons on discipline, decorum, equality, and the importance of rule of law, which are crucial for sustaining a robust law-and-order system and ensuring a dignified existence for every individual.
He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi demonstrated reverence for the Constitution by touching it to his forehead upon taking office, showcasing the BJP’s profound commitment to constitutional principles.
Moreover, he mentioned that BJP members and representatives nationwide operate within the constitutional framework.
Discussing governance in Rajasthan, the BJP State President remarked that the "double-engine" government is focused on ensuring that the advantages of freedom reach ordinary citizens, expanding developmental prospects, and fostering active participation in nation-building.
While comparing with neighboring nations, Rathore indicated that constitutional frameworks have deteriorated in countries like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, where citizens face challenges in safeguarding their fundamental rights.
In contrast, he asserted that India's constitutional framework has strengthened due to decisive leadership and respect for democratic institutions.
He stressed that honoring the Constitution is imperative, alongside building a system that guarantees inclusive development for all societal segments while promoting integrity, discipline, and national character among citizens.
