Davanagere (Karnataka), March 23 (NationPress) Former Chief Minister of Karnataka, B.S. Yediyurappa, expressed on Monday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised for a significant victory in both the Davanagere South and Bagalkot Assembly seats during the forthcoming bypolls.
While addressing the media, Yediyurappa stated that citizens are increasingly dissatisfied with the Congress-led government's approach to governance.
"The Congress holds an excessive majority, and the residents of Karnataka are yearning for a transformation. I humbly request voters in both constituencies to back the BJP and deliver a stern message to the Congress," the former Chief Minister remarked.
In response to a question, Yediyurappa noted that the Muslim community has recognized the Congress's betrayal, urging them to endorse Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration based on its performance.
He criticized Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for making reckless remarks, asserting that a loss for the Congress in the upcoming bypolls is inevitable.
Addressing another inquiry, Yediyurappa expressed confidence in the political climate in Karnataka being more favorable than anticipated.
"Our BJP candidate has just submitted the nomination, and I am assured that we will achieve a substantial victory in both Davanagere and Bagalkot," he added.
B.Y. Vijayendra, State BJP President and Yediyurappa's son, stated that the "shameless" Congress government lacks concern for the state's advancement; he predicted a massive win for the BJP in Bagalkot.
Vijayendra also criticized the Congress-led state administration for neglecting Bagalkot's development, which had previously been pivotal for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's political revival.
During a significant roadshow for BJP candidate Veeranna Charantimath ahead of the Bagalkot by-election, Vijayendra urged voters to compare the funding allocated to Bagalkot during the terms of former Chief Ministers Yediyurappa, Jagadish Shettar, and Basavaraj Bommai.
He confidently asserted that the Congress will face defeat in the Bagalkot by-election and that the BJP's victory is unstoppable.
Vijayendra mentioned that the informed electorate in Bagalkot has already made their decision, highlighting that they had erred once and will not repeat the mistake.
Alleging that Hindus are unable to celebrate their festivals freely, Vijayendra pointed out that even a peaceful procession during Shivaji Jayanti was not permitted in Bagalkot.
"This Congress government is anti-Hindu and must be removed from power in Karnataka," he stated.
He emphasized that the BJP does not have caste divisions or internal disputes, while accusing Congress leaders of misappropriating funds intended for Dalits and spending excessively to mislead the electorate.
He called on the public to reject such practices and encouraged BJP supporters to unite in pursuit of a historic victory for candidate Charantimath.
