Key Takeaways
Davanagere (Karnataka), April 6 (NationPress) - The BJP State President and MLA, B.Y. Vijayendra, expressed that the current bye-elections pose a significant challenge to the Karnataka government and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
"The crocodile tears of the Karnataka Congress party are now recognized even by the minorities," he remarked.
During a press briefing in Davanagere, he accused the Chief Minister of misleading the public with his guarantee schemes. He emphasized that the bye-elections have evolved into a crucial test for the Congress government, revealing the confusion among the Chief Minister and his Cabinet regarding which seat to secure between Davanagere South and Bagalkot.
When asked about the situation, Vijayendra noted that the rising discontent among voters in Davangere foreshadows the political landscape for the coming days, which he believes will favor the BJP. He asserted that even minorities have come to understand that the Congress party is merely shedding “crocodile tears” for them.
He criticized the government, stating that despite Siddaramaiah’s extensive experience as a Chief Minister with 17 budgets under his belt, his expertise has not been effectively harnessed for the state’s progress. He pointed out that the bye-elections have garnered attention for multiple reasons, disrupting the Chief Minister’s peace.
Vijayendra accused the government of neglecting development work for the past three years, instead presenting guarantee schemes as a form of progress.
He claimed that the Chief Minister and his Cabinet members have been deflecting their shortcomings by blaming the Central government, while the state has witnessed no genuine development.
Furthermore, he noted that although the Chief Minister rose to power under the banner of AHINDA, he has since neglected backward communities and that there is an increasing discourse regarding the oversight of minorities.
Highlighting the efforts of the BJP campaign, Vijayendra stated that party workers are diligently working at the grassroots level. He commended the unity and enthusiasm of all leaders and workers in supporting candidate Srinivas Dasakariyappa, expressing satisfaction with the commitment of the party's support base, which also includes JD(S) supporters.
He mentioned that BJP workers in Bagalkot are tirelessly laboring, with leaders unified in their mission. He confidently predicted that the bye-elections would halt the Congress party's momentum and that BJP candidates would secure victory.
Vijayendra also acknowledged April 6 as the BJP’s Foundation Day, commemorated since 1980, noting that celebrations are taking place meaningfully across all 224 constituencies in the state and nationwide. He remarked on the BJP's evolution into the largest political party globally.
