Davanagere, April 2 (NationPress) The BJP State President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra has declared that the party is poised for a definitive victory in both constituencies where by-elections are taking place. He suggested that the Chief Minister appears to be feeling the pressure.
In response to media inquiries on Thursday, he remarked that the implications of the BJP's success for other parties are internal matters, urging the public to stay tuned for unfolding political events.
Addressing a question regarding Basangouda Patil Yatnal's involvement in the BJP campaign, he welcomed the support, indicating that any contribution to increasing Veeranna Charantimath’s lead is beneficial. He pointed out that the BJP has already secured a win in Bagalkot, with even some Congress members collaborating with them. “As I previously stated, anyone willing to support our cause is more than welcome,” he affirmed.
Vijayendra stated his belief that Davanagere South is set to witness an extraordinary victory for the BJP. He noted that minority communities have come to understand that the Congress party has misled them, and he is confident that the BJP candidate will emerge victorious. He emphasized that through the dedication of party workers, the BJP will proudly raise the victory flag in both constituencies.
R. Raghu Kautilya, President of the State BJP Backward Classes Morcha, has accused the government of denying essential benefits and services to the most backward communities in Davanagere.
His comments came during a campaign for the by-elections in the Davanagere South constituency, where he participated in a padayatra through Wards No. 6 and 8, engaging with members of various backward communities.
Kautilya highlighted that the communities categorized under Categories 2 and 1 represent a significant demographic in Davanagere. However, apart from a few lakh rupees allocated from MLA funds to some groups, no substantial efforts have been made to deliver the benefits they are entitled to. He pointed out that even through corporations established for these communities, the execution of schemes has been inadequate.
He noted that these issues became apparent during their outreach efforts and claimed that there has been no financial support aimed at strengthening occupation-based communities.
Additionally, he remarked that students from these backward communities have not received crucial benefits such as scholarships, hostel accommodations, or financial aid for higher education.
Similarly, unemployed youth have not been given the necessary loan assistance for self-employment opportunities.
Kautilya lamented that there have been insufficient efforts to provide housing and shelter for families from these communities who have lived without adequate housing for decades.
He accused the Congress party and a singular family that has dominated the constituency of stifling these communities, hindering their political and social progress.
He expressed optimism that these newly awakened communities will unite in the by-election, playing a critical role in securing a significant victory for BJP candidate Srinivas Dasakariyappa.
He proclaimed that Davanagere South will be a testament to democratic victory and that the BJP candidate, who embodies social justice, will pave the way for the upcoming 2028 Assembly elections.
