Bagalkot (Karnataka), March 30 (NationPress) - The Karnataka BJP President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra expressed strong assurance on Monday that the electorate will favor the party and secure a win for candidate Veeranna Charantimath, irrespective of who visits the constituency, even if it includes the Chief Minister.

In response to press inquiries, he asserted that no tactic or scheme from the Congress would prevail. He noted that support for the BJP is on the rise among voters in the Bagalkot Assembly area. Party members are invigorated, and the BJP candidate has been actively campaigning since 7 a.m. “The environment is leaning towards the BJP,” he stated.

He further mentioned that Bagalkot is where the Chief Minister began his political journey, yet it has been entirely overlooked by both the Chief Minister and the Congress party. “Whatever claims they make, the people are aware of the reality. Veeranna Charantimath will achieve a significant victory,” he remarked when asked about the situation.

Notably, CM Siddaramaiah contested for the Badami seat in the Bagalkot district in the 2018 elections and won narrowly against the BJP. He also ran for the Chamundeshwari seat in his home district of Mysuru, where he faced defeat.

Vijayendra accused the Congress of attempting to exploit power through financial and physical intimidation, claiming that they are trying to scare the electorate. “Nevertheless, the informed voters here are committed to ensuring the BJP’s success,” he added.

“I have dedicated 20 years to the BJP, starting as Bengaluru City Yuva Morcha secretary, then moving to state Yuva Morcha general secretary, and later as state vice-president. Now, the party leadership has assigned me this vital role. Organizational work is not trivial; I approach it earnestly. People are observing the dynastic politics of Congress,” he stated.

When asked about the campaign of expelled BJP leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, he pointed out that Charantimath is a leader who is well-liked and does not create adversaries. “Even Congress members wish for Charantimath's success. If Congress members support him, there is no issue if others do as well,” he commented.

He asserted that in both Bagalkot and Davanagere South, Congress members are indirectly backing the BJP. “We welcome support from anyone who aids in the victory of our candidate,” he stated.

“Let the election results be announced. Minister for Large and Medium Industries M.B. Patil will then see how many doors belong to Congress and how many belong to the BJP,” he remarked.

Critiquing the state administration, Vijayendra stated that even now, foundation stone ceremonies are occurring for projects initiated under the previous BJP administration, and no new funds for development have been allocated.

He claimed that for the first time in history, the salaries of police personnel and officers are being delayed by up to a month, despite the expectation of payment on the first day of each month.

He also highlighted that guest lecturers at Kuvempu University in Shivamogga have not been compensated for two months, and similar issues are present in other universities. “The Chief Minister boasts of having presented 17 budgets. We have continuously requested a white paper detailing the state’s financial status,” he said.

As part of the Bagalkot Assembly by-election, Vijayendra conducted a padyatra (foot march) in the constituency on Monday, seeking votes for the party’s candidate, Veeranna Charantimath.

Former Deputy Chief Minister and MP Govind Karjol, along with party candidate Veeranna Charantimath, district president Shantagouda, MLA Basavaraj Mattimood, senior party leader P.H. Poojar, and numerous party workers participated energetically in the campaign.
