Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Durgapur, April 11 (NationPress) As the eagerly awaited West Bengal Assembly elections approach, Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta declared on Saturday that the BJP will triumph in the state, asserting that the lotus will flourish even in coal mines. She emphasized that the people of Bengal, including the youth, women, and farmers, have experienced what she termed the ruthless demeanor of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Addressing the media, Rekha Gupta remarked, “This election, the lotus will indeed bloom amidst the coal mines. The entirety of Bengal—youth, women, and farmers—has seen Mamata Banerjee's stern image. The faith of Bengal now rests with PM Modi. ‘Iss Baar Banegi Modi Sarkar' (This time, Modi's government will be formed).”
Earlier, Gupta expressed her sentiments on social media platform X, stating, “I pay my respects to the sacred land of Bengal. Soon, I will engage with the esteemed residents of Raniganj and Galsi-Panagarh.”
She also noted the excitement among BJP supporters in the state, indicating a substantial political transformation.
“The passion of our committed BJP workers in Bengal clearly signals the countdown to the end of the ‘Syndicate Raj’. Mamata Didi’s exit is unavoidable, paving the way for a new chapter of service, good governance, and development starting this May,” she stated.
The West Bengal Assembly elections are set to take place from April 23 to April 29, with all 294 members of the state Legislative Assembly to be elected. The vote counting will occur on May 4.
Senior BJP figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, have ramped up their campaign activities, conducting back-to-back rallies across the state.
On Saturday, Prime Minister Modi held three consecutive rallies in West Bengal, noting the unprecedented turnout and enthusiasm at his events. “The crowd and public excitement in my rallies in West Bengal this time are unmatched, even compared to my home state of Gujarat,” he remarked.
Similarly, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, addressing a rally in Onda within Bankura district, launched a pointed critique against the state government, claiming that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has failed to address incidents of violence against women.
