Jaipur, May 31 (NationPress) On Saturday, two major hotels in Jaipur, the Holiday Inn and Raffles, were targeted with bomb threats, leading to an urgent evacuation. Remarkably, three ministers from Rajasthan, including Jawahar Singh Bedham, the Minister of State for Home, were present at a private gathering at the Holiday Inn when the alarm was raised.
The Holiday Inn, situated at 22 Godown Circle, received a threatening email at 10:30 AM. During the event, Ministers K.K. Vishnoi (Entrepreneurship) and Gautam Dak (Cooperation) were also in attendance.
Once alerted by law enforcement, Minister Bedham took to the stage to inform attendees about the evacuation. All three ministers made a safe exit.
Shortly thereafter, at 12:05 PM, the Raffles Hotel on Delhi Road also received a similar email threat.
The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and bomb disposal teams swiftly arrived at both hotels. Guests and staff members were evacuated safely, with senior officials dispatched to manage the situation.
This alarming event follows a bomb threat on Friday at both the Jaipur Metro Court and the Family Court. The threatening email, sent from three distinct accounts, warned of explosions scheduled for 2 PM and was allegedly from a self-identified former Naxalite.
Both court locations underwent thorough evacuations and searches. The Family Court was scrutinized for four hours, while the Jaipur Metro Court was cleared after one hour; fortunately, no explosives were discovered.
Recently, Jaipur has faced a spate of bomb threats. On May 13, 12, and 8, threats were issued to Sawai Mansingh Stadium. Additionally, on May 9, threats were made against Jaipur Metro stations and trains following the success of 'Operation Sindoor.'
In every case, detailed investigations followed, but no explosives were located. Authorities are diligently pursuing the source of these repeated threats, ensuring each incident is taken with the highest level of seriousness.
