Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Srinagar, Feb 21 (NationPress) In a significant offensive against terror facilitators, law enforcement in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district has, on Saturday, confiscated the immovable property belonging to an individual residing in Pakistan and conducting operations from there, according to officials.
The police have introduced the term 'Jammu and Kashmir Nationals Operating from Pakistan' or JKNOP to categorize such individuals.
A police announcement stated, "In a robust and resolute response against terror operatives and their support systems, the Budgam Police has seized immovable property of a JKNOP at the Khag Police Station, and an FIR has been filed under Sections 7/25, 18, 20, and 23 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA)."
"The seized land belongs to Ghulam Nabi Najar, son of the late Abdul Jabbar, and a resident of Gamgulla village in Budgam district. The property consists of one Kanal and 16 Marlas of prime land listed under Khasra No. 796, Khewat No. 144, and Khata No. 439, located in Gamgulla village."
"This action has been carried out under Section 85 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) following all necessary legal procedures, representing a major escalation in the ongoing campaign against terror-linked factions operating in Budgam district," said the police statement.
"This impactful initiative conveys a clear message that those engaged in anti-national and illegal activities will face not only criminal prosecution but also the loss of the very assets that support such networks."
"The Budgam Police is intensively targeting the financial and logistical infrastructure of terror organizations and their overseas sponsors."
"Budgam Police reiterates its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and confirms that unyielding actions will persist until every support network is dismantled and peace is firmly established," the statement concluded.
Both the Army and the Border Security Force (BSF) are securing the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border (IB) within Jammu and Kashmir.
The Union Territory has a 740-Km long LoC and a 240-Km long IB.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with security forces, are executing anti-terror operations against terrorists, their supporters, and sympathizers in the region.
The revised tactical approach of the security forces aims to dismantle the entire support structure for terrorism instead of merely targeting armed militants.
