Srinagar, July 16 (NationPress) In a significant operation against terror networks and their supporting systems, the Jammu and Kashmir police have seized three properties linked to terrorist handlers from Pakistan (JKNOP) in the Budgam district. These properties are situated in Khag, Chewa Beerwah, and Harwani Khansahib, with the necessary oversight from the relevant Executive Magistrates, as stated by police officials on Wednesday.
"This action relates to case FIR No. 58/2024 under section 7/25 of the Indian Arms Act, along with sections 18, 20, and 23 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) from Police Station Khag. It follows the proceedings initiated under Section 25 of UAPA for the seizure of properties utilized in terrorist activities," the statement elaborated.
The properties include a double-storied residential house in Harwani Khansahib owned by Manzoor Ahmad Chopan, also known as Rayees, the son of Gh. Mohi-ud-din Chopan; a double-storied house and 5 Kanals and 13 Marlas of land in Chewa Budgam owned by Mohammad Yousuf Malik, alias Molvi; and a 19.5 Marlas plot in Khag owned by Bilal Ahmad Wani, alias Umer.
According to the police, these terrorist handlers, operating from across the border, have been playing a crucial role in planning and facilitating terrorist actions in the region for many years. The attachment of their assets represents a strategic move to dismantle the logistical, financial, and operational frameworks of terror groups and their foreign supporters," the statement asserted.
"This assertive action conveys a robust warning to those engaged in anti-national activities: such behaviors will lead to severe legal repercussions," it added.
The police reaffirmed their dedication to uphold the rule of law and ensure that no individual or network jeopardizes the peace and safety of the region.
