Authorities stated that the car was traveling from Madurai to Indore.
Initial investigations indicated that the driver lost control while maneuvering a tight spot near the century-old culvert as an oncoming truck approached.
Due to the absence of guardrails or warning signs, the car veered off and plunged into the river.
Among the four passengers, two tragically perished.
The victims were identified as OP, a 40-year-old from Amritsar, and Anand Raj, also 40, hailing from Indore. Both were seated in the front, as reported by police.
The other two passengers, Ilaiyaraaja from Jaipur and Uchchtevan from Chandigarh, were rescued by local villagers who broke the car's windows to help.
Ilaiyaraaja is currently in a critical condition at RR Hospital in Bagli.
All four individuals originally came from Madurai and worked as chefs, heading to Indore to drop off Anand Raj when the tragedy struck.
Witnesses indicated that this incident marks the fourth such accident at this particular culvert in the last two months.
The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examinations.
Authorities are continuing their investigation.
