Patna, Sep 4 (NationPress) The uproar concerning statements supposedly directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his deceased mother during the INDIA Bloc’s Voter Rights Yatra in Darbhanga has escalated to the Jamui court.
A local individual, Satish Chandra Gupta, has initiated a criminal complaint in the Civil Court, naming INDIA Bloc leaders Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, and Mukesh Sahani as the primary defendants.
The complaint also includes 100 unidentified individuals. The court has scheduled September 17 for the next hearing.
According to Gupta’s attorney, Brijnandan Singh, the case is lodged under Sections 61(1)(2), 62, 356, 351, and 553 of the Bhartiya Nyay Sahita (BNS) Act.
The lawyer contended that numerous supporters of the INDIA Bloc employed “abusive” language against PM Modi and his late mother from the platform, an act which he claimed “offended the sentiments of millions of Indians.”
Singh further stated, “Narendra Modi is a democratically elected Prime Minister. Such statements are not merely personal insults, but also contravene the principles of Indian democracy.”
