New Delhi, Nov 10 (NationPress) The Office of Controller General of Defence Accounts is set to host a Mega Camp at the Air Force Auditorium in Tambaram, Chennai, on Tuesday to assist pensioners in digitally submitting their life certificates, according to an official announcement.
This initiative is part of the Nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 4.0, organized by the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW), under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
The government is conducting these camps from November 1 to 30, aligning with its vision for Digital Empowerment of pensioners through Digital India and enhancing quality of life, as per the official statement.
The Secretary (Pension) and senior officials from DoPPW will be present at the camp in Chennai, where pensioners will receive support in submitting their Life Certificates using various digital methods.
The UIDAI will assist in updating Aadhaar records and addressing any technical concerns, the statement added.
In Tamil Nadu, DLC camps are being set up across 84 cities and 155 locations, in collaboration with SBI, Indian Bank, IOB, IPPB, and six Pensioners’ Welfare Associations. Around 160 Nodal Officers will ensure the campaign runs smoothly.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his Mann Ki Baat broadcast on November 24 and his address on Constitution Day, November 26, praised the impact of Digital India in streamlining pension procedures.
The DLC Campaign 4.0, launched by Minister of State Jitendra Singh on November 5, aims to reach two crore pensioners across more than 2,000 cities through extensive outreach efforts.
This campaign encourages Aadhaar-based Face Authentication, enabling pensioners to submit Life Certificates effortlessly without needing biometric devices.
Special provisions have been made for super-senior and differently-abled pensioners through doorstep DLC services offered by India Post Payments Bank (Department of Posts).
Thus far, a total of 78.26 lakh DLCs have been generated, with 46.36 lakh accomplished via Face Authentication; over 46,000 pensioners aged over 90 and 1,200 above 100 years have already submitted their DLCs, the statement concluded.
