Bhopal, March 7 (NationPress) A man was charred to death when the vehicle he was in collided with a tree early Friday morning, close to Dinera-Puni road village in Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh, according to an official report.
The car, which was transporting a group from Durg, Chhattisgarh, crashed into a tree and subsequently caught fire near Murmari village, falling under the Rampayali police station jurisdiction in Balaghat district.
The force of the impact and the resulting blaze led to the tragic demise of one passenger, Rakesh Srivas, who could not escape from the burning car. The other individuals in the vehicle were able to exit but suffered serious injuries. They were on their way back after attending a wedding in Katangi, Balaghat.
Sadly, Rakesh Srivas did not survive the devastating accident, and morning walkers discovered the scene and immediately notified the police.
Chandrajeet Yadav, the Rampayali police station head, shared details of the incident with IANS via phone, noting that the injured passengers were taken to various hospitals due to the critical state of their injuries.
Following initial treatment, two of the injured, Satyaprakash Patle (27) and Krishna Sahu (18), were referred to a nearby town in Gondia, Maharashtra, where their families arranged for private medical care.
The other injured individuals, Shlok Joshi (29) and Vikram Khande (19), are currently receiving treatment at the district hospital in Balaghat.
The police official also mentioned that Rakesh Srivas's body was left in a condition that was nearly unrecognizable due to the extreme fire.
After consulting with the district hospital physician, it was determined that the body would be transported to Bhopal for a post-mortem examination if it could not be conducted in Balaghat due to its condition.
Regarding the cause of the accident, the police officer indicated that investigations are ongoing.
However, he suggested that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, as the group had commenced their journey back to Chhattisgarh late the previous evening after the wedding.
