Guna, May 1 (NationPress) In a heartbreaking incident, at least four individuals lost their lives in a severe road accident that took place late Wednesday night in the Guna district of Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, three others sustained critical injuries, according to officials on Thursday.
The accident occurred near Bhadaura when a speeding vehicle, believed to be returning from a wedding celebration, lost control, crashed into a divider, and subsequently overturned, as reported by police.
Police sources indicated that the car's occupants hailed from Rijoda village in Shivpuri district and were on their way back from a wedding in Maawan.
The collision transpired on the Guna-Ashoknagar road. Initial investigations point to the driver losing control of the vehicle, resulting in a significant impact with the divider, which led to the car flipping over.
All seven individuals inside the car sustained serious injuries and were promptly transported to the nearby Primary Health Centre, officials stated.
Due to the severity of their injuries, one critically injured individual was transferred to Bhopal for advanced medical care, while two others are currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Guna.
The officer in charge of Myana police station, Gopal Choubey, confirmed the incident, identifying the deceased as Govind Raghuvanshi, Sonu, Veeru, and Hitesh. Their remains have been sent for a post-mortem examination.
This tragic event is part of a concerning trend of road fatalities in Madhya Pradesh in recent times. On April 27, in Mandsaur district, 12 individuals died when a car fell into an uncovered well near Budha-Takarwat crossing. Furthermore, four others, including two young children, suffered severe injuries in that incident.
Similar accidents have also been reported from Neemuch and Sagar districts.
Authorities are advising travelers to remain vigilant, especially during the ongoing wedding season, where late-night travel and speeding frequently result in fatal accidents.
