Koppal (Karnataka), Oct 6 (NationPress) Addressing the widely debated concept of the 'November revolution' within the state Congress, which hinted at a potential leadership shift in Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah emphasized on Monday that this so-called 'revolution' is merely an illusion. "No revolution will take place in November. It's all an illusion," he asserted.
During a press interaction at an event where he inaugurated a new 450-bed teaching hospital and a dharamshala built by the Koppal District Administration and Zilla Panchayat, Siddaramaiah also laid the foundation stone for a Super Specialty Hospital.
Meanwhile, Congress MLA and Economic Advisor to the CM, Basavaraj Rayareddi, spoke to the audience in Koppal, affirming that Siddaramaiah will remain as Chief Minister for the remaining 2.8 years of the government’s term.
"Under CM Siddaramaiah's leadership, we will achieve greater development. We are united and have no disagreements. He will serve as CM until the next elections," Rayareddi declared.
There have been ongoing rumors in political circles regarding the anticipated 'November Revolution' since Siddaramaiah approaches the halfway mark of his five-year term.
In response to speculation about a power struggle, both CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister and State Congress President D.K. Shivakumar have made efforts to dispel these notions, insisting that the Congress high command's decisions on power-sharing will be final.
While Siddaramaiah has reaffirmed his commitment to serve his full term, he has also indicated his willingness to comply with the high command’s verdict.
In contrast, Shivakumar has emphasized that the high command's decisions are paramount and has even cautioned his associates against making comments regarding leadership.
However, supporters of Shivakumar argue that, as per the initial power-sharing agreement made during government formation, Siddaramaiah is expected to step aside for Shivakumar.
Siddaramaiah’s faction, however, firmly denies this claim, insisting he will serve the full term.
Recently, Congress' National General Secretary and MP, K.C. Venugopal, when queried about the supposed power struggle for the CM's position, remarked, "Every time I visit Karnataka, the same question arises. The Congress party is capable of determining its own course of action. Trust us to make decisions when necessary."
