Bhopal, April 8 (NationPress) As the wheat procurement at Minimum Support Price (MSP) is poised to initiate tomorrow in Madhya Pradesh, the state government has established a comprehensive monitoring and support framework aimed at facilitating a seamless experience for farmers throughout the region.
On Wednesday, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav conducted a virtual meeting with representatives from farmers' groups and NGOs, emphasizing the importance of transparency and convenience for farmers as top priorities.
The procurement process will kick off in the divisions of Indore, Ujjain, and Bhopal on April 9, followed by Rewa, Jabalpur, Sagar, and Shahdol divisions starting April 15.
"I held a virtual discussion with farmers' representatives and voluntary organizations concerning the upcoming wheat procurement process, which begins tomorrow (April 9). Our government is dedicated to ensuring that our farmers receive a fair price for their yield," stated Chief Minister Yadav.
To enhance the transparency and efficiency of the procurement process, district-level control rooms have been established.
A central control room has also been launched at the Chief Minister's Office to oversee the process continuously.
"During our session, I urged voluntary organizations to lend their support during the wheat procurement phase. All Collectors and Sub-Divisional Magistrates have been instructed to ensure that adequate provisions are in place for farmers at the procurement centers," the Chief Minister noted.
He added that the initial focus of the procurement will be on registered small and marginal farmers, with slot bookings for procurement already in progress.
He assured that a sufficient number of gunny bags have been arranged for the operations.
Cabinet Ministers and MLAs have also been tasked with consistently overseeing the arrangements for wheat procurement in their respective districts to ensure effective coordination and minimize any inconvenience to farmers.
The wheat procurement in Madhya Pradesh is set at a rate of Rs 2,625 per quintal, including an additional bonus of Rs 40 per quintal for farmers.
Over 78,19,400 farmers have registered for this process across 3,627 procurement centers, with 2,625 centers offering bonus facilities.
