Bhopal, March 23 (NationPress) Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, is set to address a conference for farmers in Datia district on Tuesday, where he will unveil a series of development initiatives valued at several crores.
During this event, the Chief Minister will tour exhibitions organized by various departments and will distribute benefits associated with numerous government welfare programs.
Additionally, he will inaugurate multiple completed projects, such as a Sandipani School and a rest house built at the revered Pandokhar Dham.
In a bid to enhance agricultural productivity, the BJP-led Madhya Pradesh government has proclaimed the financial year 2026-27 as the ‘Year of Agriculture’. Farmers are being urged to adopt cutting-edge technology and innovative methods for irrigation, which are expected to boost both production and income.
In a similar event held at the Chief Minister’s residence on Monday, CM Yadav assured farmers from the Agar-Malwa area that the government's primary focus is on merging agriculture with modern technology, innovation, and value addition. He emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to the prosperity of farmers in the state.
To increase farmers' earnings, the government is actively promoting allied activities such as cattle rearing, animal husbandry, fisheries, horticulture, and agro-based enterprises, in addition to traditional crop production.
“We have not merely made promises; we have shown our ability to deliver on them. True prosperity and happiness for our farmers can only be realized when wealth flows from our fields to our factories,” Yadav remarked during a meeting with farmers at his residence.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also underscored significant initiatives undertaken to expand agricultural land and river-linking projects (Ken-Betwa) that have received approval from the Centre.
Yadav mentioned that his government has sanctioned various irrigation projects, including the Ahu Medium Irrigation Project worth ₹167.21 crore and the construction of the Hadai Pond valued at ₹24.88 crore for the Agar-Malwa district.
