Bareilly, Aug 6 (NationPress) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday launched a strong critique against the opposition, accusing them of engaging in appeasement politics. He asserted that attempts to tarnish the Kanwar Yatra had been unsuccessful thanks to heightened public awareness and the diligent efforts of the administration.
Speaking to a sizable audience, he remarked, “A malicious endeavor was made to undermine the Kanwar Yatra by ignoring public sentiments. However, its successful and peaceful execution today serves as proof of an enlightened society and a robust law-and-order framework.”
“The double-engine BJP government is merging tradition with progress. Bareilly, which faced frequent riots before 2017, is now recognized for the Nath Corridor and spiritual tourism,” he continued.
CM Yogi inaugurated and laid the foundation for 545 development projects valued at Rs 2,264 crore in Bareilly, also referred to as Nath Nagari.
During this occasion, the Chief Minister distributed appointment letters to over 6,000 youth selected through employment fairs, in addition to providing certificates and tablets to beneficiaries of various government initiatives.
Highlighting the government’s inclusive approach, Yogi Adityanath stated, “There is no discrimination in schemes based on caste, religion, or region. This is the new India — advancing with the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. Bareilly is progressing swiftly.”
The Rs 2,264 crore investment encompasses 222 completed projects worth Rs 1,258 crore and foundation stones laid for another 322 projects valued at Rs 1,004 crore. These projects span various infrastructure and welfare initiatives, including flood protection, road expansion, bypasses, bridges, a Unani Medical College, rural drinking water schemes, and municipal projects.
A key highlight is the Nath Corridor, under which significant temples such as Alakhnath, Tripathinath, Gopeshwarnath, and Pashupatinath will be transformed into major spiritual tourism destinations.
Encouraging the youth to benefit from the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Yojana, he mentioned the scheme offers guarantee-free and interest-free loans up to Rs 5 lakh — extendable to Rs 7.5 lakh upon timely repayment, and up to Rs 10 lakh afterwards.
In a jab at previous administrations, CM Yogi remarked, “Before 2017, there was chaos in the allocation of government jobs. Nephews, uncles, and relatives were involved in extortion and corruption. However, over the past eight years, we have transparently provided 8.5 lakh government jobs.
