Amritsar, Jan 22 (NationPress) Celebrating its 49th Raising Day, the Indian Coast Guard has initiated the 'Samudra Ke Prahari Sarhad Se Samandar' Motorcycle Expedition. The event was ceremoniously launched at the Attari Border in Amritsar by Inspector General Bhishma Sharma, PTM, TM, Commander Coast Guard Region (West), alongside Dr Atul Fulzele, Inspector General, BSF Punjab Frontier.

This expedition is organized by the Indian Coast Guard Air Station in Daman in partnership with Triumph Motorcycles Ltd, covering a distance of 2,300 km over a span of 10 days.

The journey will pass through key border towns and coastal cities such as Sri Ganganagar, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Vadodara, and Daman, ultimately reaching the famous Gateway of India in Mumbai on February 1, which is celebrated as Coast Guard Day.

This expedition pays tribute to the commitment and courage of the Indian Coast Guard in protecting the nation’s maritime borders, reinforcing the vital role of the Coast Guard in national security and maritime vigilance, while also celebrating India’s rich maritime heritage.

Encouraging national integration, environmental consciousness, and camaraderie, the rally highlights the unified strength of India’s Defence forces.

Kalyani Potekar stated, “This rally is in line with the Government of India’s 'Fit India Movement', 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao', and 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan', which will be prominently showcased throughout the expedition.”

The rally aims to enhance emotional resilience, teamwork, and wellness among participants. Coast Guard personnel will interact with students at numerous schools along the route, conducting awareness campaigns to inspire young minds and celebrate India’s illustrious maritime history.

Moreover, the expedition underscores road safety, responsible driving, and environmental responsibility. It provides participants a chance to connect with India’s varied landscapes, communities, and cultures, reinforcing the nation’s shared values and traditions.
