Chandigarh, Dec 7 (NationPress) - Punjab AAP General Secretary Baltej Pannu fiercely criticized the Congress party on Sunday after Navjot Kaur Sidhu made a shocking statement following her meeting with the Punjab Governor. Pannu claimed that her remarks unveiled the “disturbing reality” of Congress's operations, highlighting how leadership roles are decided and how the state's welfare is compromised for personal gain and financial arrangements.
Pannu pointed out that Navjot Kaur Sidhu, the spouse of Congress leader Navjot Sidhu, asserted two points - that Navjot Sidhu would return to Punjab politics only if the Congress publicly endorses him as their chief ministerial candidate, and that the Sidhus lack the Rs 500 crore necessary for this arrangement, insinuating that such a payment is essential to become CM in Congress.
Labeling these statements as “alarming,” Pannu questioned whether the Congress leadership truly engages in transactions for the CM position at Rs 500 crore. “If Sidhu claims they don’t have Rs 500 crore, then who funds this amount? Where does this money end up? Is it for the state unit president, the high command, Rahul Gandhi, or Kharge? The people of Punjab deserve transparency,” he demanded.
Pannu reminded that Navjot Singh Sidhu has held positions such as Punjab Congress president, MP, MLA, and Cabinet Minister. “Were these roles also bought? Was he appointed Congress President after paying less? How many crores does one need to ascend to the role of Deputy CM or minister in Congress?” he queried.
Condemning Sidhu’s conditional politics, Pannu expressed disbelief at the Sidhus suggesting that Punjab's “golden days” are contingent on Sidhu being declared the CM face. “If Congress fails to announce him, Punjab may suffer; this is their implication. Is Punjab merely a pawn for the Navjot Sidhu?” he added.
Pannu mocked Sidhu’s past theatrics, from extravagant press briefings to the unsuccessful “Jittega Punjab” channel, questioning if Sidhu possesses a miraculous strategy for Punjab's revival that he never executed while in office.
The AAP leader called for an immediate clarification from Congress: “Does becoming CM necessitate Rs 500 crore? Has Congress amassed this money from the numerous CM aspirants in the state?”
