Key Takeaways
Chandigarh, Dec 9 (NationPress) The General Secretary of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab, Baltej Pannu, has fiercely criticized the Congress party for failing to address allegations regarding the purported ‘sale’ of the Chief Minister’s position for Rs 500 crore and Rs 350 crore.
Pannu questioned why the Congress remains silent about the true nature of this Rs 500 crore and Rs 350 crore situation. To shift public focus, he stated the Congress party first suspended Navjot Kaur unexpectedly. Subsequently, Congress leader Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa issued a legal notice to her.
“Does this notice theatrics provide an answer for Punjabis regarding whether the CM’s chair was indeed up for sale?” Pannu pressed the Congress to clarify the actual story behind this money.
“Where did this money come from? Was it extracted from industries, private educational institutions, hospitals, or was it accumulated through ‘files’, in the manner often discussed by Capt Amarinder Singh? Why were there two different amounts? Was it Rs 500 crore for a full-term or Rs 350 crore for the remaining period post-Capt Amarinder Singh’s ousting?”
Pannu also called for transparency from Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar concerning this matter.
He emphasized that Jakhar, having previously served as Congress President, should know who was involved in the Rs 350 crore transaction and with whom the Rs 500-crore deal was being discussed.
“When Jakhar was competing for the CM position, he too must have been approached for Rs 350 crore. He should enlighten the public about who solicited this money from him,” he remarked.
Pannu urged BJP Working President Ashwani Sharma to bring together his party leaders, Jakhar and Capt Amarinder Singh, to disclose the truth to the people of Punjab.
He should inquire of Capt Amarinder Singh about the funds he received upon assuming the CM role and the nature of this financial collection.
Pannu criticized the Congress for issuing notices instead of providing answers.
Questioning Randhawa for sending a notice to Navjot Kaur, Pannu wondered why no legal notice was issued months earlier when a gangster’s mother accused him.
