New Delhi, Nov 2 (NationPress) In response to the detention of JD-U candidate from Bihar's Mokama, Anant Singh, linked to the murder of Jan Suraaj Party worker Dularchand Yadav, the Congress party on Sunday condemned the NDA government, describing the situation as the “epitome of lawlessness”.

Congress leader Udit Raj provided commentary on the murder of Jan Suraaj Party worker Dularchand Yadav, shedding light on the local political landscape in the Mokama Assembly constituency.

In an interview with IANS, Raj stated, “Dular Chand Yadav was an RJD supporter, while Piyush Priyadarshi is from the Dhanuk community. Mokama is predominantly influenced by the Bhumihar community, with both RJD and JD(U) fielding strong Bhumihar candidates. The Dhanuk and other backward communities, whose votes are critical, are becoming more politically aware and are ready to contest this election. Dular Chand Yadav had sought a ticket from the RJD but was unsuccessful, leading him to possibly align with the Jan Suraaj Party and campaign for them…”

Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput also reacted strongly to Anant Kumar Singh's arrest in connection with Yadav's murder, accusing the NDA of fostering lawlessness in the state.

He remarked, “This is the epitome of lawlessness; the NDA should at least apologize to the nation and to Bihar. The NDA must clarify, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose 'lawlessness' is this? Nitish Kumar, whose 'lawlessness' is this? Throughout Bihar, we witness murders, kidnappings, theft, and robberies; bodies are discovered in public, bullets are fired in broad daylight. Dularchand Yadav was dragged to his demise, and his body was even run over by a vehicle…”

This case has garnered significant attention in Bihar's political realm.

According to Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kartikeya Sharma, Anant Singh, the JD-U's candidate from Mokama, was arrested concerning the murder of 75-year-old Dularchand Yadav, a local strongman and former RJD leader.

Police indicated that the incident occurred on October 30 near Khushhal Chak in Mokama. Jan Suraaj candidate Piyush Priyadarshi, also known as Lallu Mukhiya, was campaigning alongside his supporters, accompanied by Yadav.

At that time, Anant Singh and his supporters were reportedly traversing the same area. A heated dispute erupted between the factions, escalating into stone-throwing and violence, during which Yadav was killed.

The arrest comes just days ahead of the election in Bihar. The first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections is scheduled for November 6, followed by the second phase on November 11. Vote counting is set for November 14.
