Mokama (Bihar), Nov 3 (NationPress) Union Minister and prominent leader of Janata Dal-United, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, known as Lalan Singh, has claimed that there is a well-planned conspiracy behind the murder of Jan Suraaj activist Dular Chand Yadav. He confidently stated that his detained party candidate Anant Kumar Singh is poised to secure the Mokama seat by a significant majority.
In an exclusive interview with IANS, Lalan Singh declared: "Anant Kumar Singh will triumph in Mokama with a substantial majority."
He described the incident as premeditated and orchestrated, asserting that the entire situation surrounding Anant Singh is part of a broader conspiracy and not a mere coincidence. "Some incidents unfold spontaneously, but this was clearly a setup. Numerous videos indicate that the event was intentionally staged," Lalan Singh informed IANS.
He added that police inquiries are ongoing and that the truth will emerge shortly.
Encouraging JD-U members to remain united, Lalan Singh urged: "We must maintain our spirits and respond decisively to this conspiracy. Those who devised it will face repercussions when you unite, press the ‘arrow’ button, vote for Anant Babu, and bolster Nitish Kumar’s leadership."
Dular Chand Yadav, a supporter of Jan Suraaj, was fatally shot during clashes between opposing factions while campaigning for the Assembly elections in Mokama on October 30. The event sparked political condemnation from leaders across various parties.
Mokama has a history of strongman politics, traditionally influenced by figures such as Anant Kumar Singh and former MP Surajbhan Singh. The constituency is currently in the political limelight of Bihar following this murder incident, which could significantly alter voting patterns.
JD-U has nominated Anant Kumar Singh, while RJD has fielded Veena Devi, spouse of ex-MP Surajbhan Singh from Mokama. Both candidates hail from the influential Bhumihar community, setting the stage for a fierce contest of legacy and power in one of Bihar's most pivotal yet volatile districts.
The polls in Mokama are scheduled for the first phase on November 6.
In a critique of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Lalan Singh remarked: "His entire family -- father, mother, brother, sister -- is embroiled in corruption. He was raised amid corruption. How can he be portrayed as the youthful face of Bihar? He embodies corruption. Who truly benefited from all the wealth amassed by Lalu Yadav?"
Additionally, he ridiculed the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, for his recent visit to Begusarai, where he was seen fishing in a pond.
"He came to Bihar, waded into a pond, and started fishing. This is nothing but theatrics -- a mere photo op," Lalan Singh told IANS.
