Jaipur, May 16 (NationPress) Following former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram's doubts regarding the stability of the INDIA bloc, Rajasthan Minister Jogaram Patel remarked that the Congress party is grappling with its own survival.
“The Congress is facing a crisis of existence, and its leaders appear oblivious to this fact. Although I haven't personally listened to Chidambaram's comments, from what I gather, he is indeed correct,” he stated.
Simultaneously, Minister Patel commended the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), asserting it is progressing steadily under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“While the INDIA bloc is confronting internal strife, the NDA is committed to public welfare, driven by principles and a focus on development nationwide. The people's support is firmly with us,” he added.
“If what I've heard is accurate, then the INDIA bloc is deteriorating. The outlook for this Congress-supported alliance does not seem promising. It's on a path of gradual decline, mirroring the Congress itself,” he mentioned.
Minister Patel further emphasized that Congress is losing traction throughout the nation, pointing out: “Except for two states, Congress has no substantial foothold. Yet, its leaders remain in denial.”
Reacting to Chidambaram's remarks, BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya noted that the Congress party is haunted by a series of electoral failures, and such a “confession” from a prominent leader reflects the grim atmosphere within the party.
Importantly, during a recent event, Chidambaram expressed doubts about the future of the opposition alliance.
“The future of the INDIA bloc doesn't appear as bright as Mrityunjay Yadav believes. While he is confident the alliance remains intact, I am not so certain. If it does endure, I would be delighted - but the indications suggest it is weakening,” the Congress leader stated.
Chidambaram's candid acknowledgment has intensified speculation regarding potential divisions within the INDIA bloc.
