Guwahati, March 26 (NationPress) Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika declared on Thursday that the Congress party will "never regain power" in the state while he was campaigning for NDA alliance candidate Tapan Das in the Dimoria assembly constituency.
During a series of election rallies in the area, Hazarika pointed out that the residents of Assam have lost trust in the Congress due to its previous administration and purported policies.
"The Congress government is not coming back. People have experienced their reign and have turned their backs on them decisively," he stated.
The senior BJP leader further accused the Congress of "shielding illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators," a claim he believes has fueled increasing public discontent towards the party.
He emphasized that protecting the rights of the indigenous population is a key priority for the BJP-led government in the state.
Hazarika expressed confidence in the electoral prospects of NDA candidate Tapan Das, asserting that he would achieve a "significant victory" from Dimoria.
"The overwhelming reception we are experiencing at these rallies clearly signals that Tapan Das will win by a considerable margin," he remarked.
The minister also underscored the popularity of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, claiming that women voters across the state are strongly in favor of his leadership.
"All women will support Himanta Biswa Sarma due to the schemes and development initiatives aimed at their welfare," he added.
On Thursday, Hazarika took part in three distinct campaign meetings in Dimoria, drawing large crowds of supporters.
He urged voters to fortify the NDA alliance by electing Das, promising ongoing development and stability in the region.
Tapan Das, who was present with Hazarika during the campaign events, thanked the electorate for their backing and reiterated his commitment to addressing local challenges and expediting development in Dimoria.
The campaigning in the constituency has intensified in the lead-up to the upcoming elections, with both the NDA alliance and opposing parties making vigorous efforts to rally voters.
