Pijush Hazarika Alleges Congress Ecosystem Falsifies Assam Highway News
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Guwahati, March 11 (NationPress) Assam's Urban Affairs Minister Pijush Hazarika accused the Congress ecosystem on Wednesday of disseminating false information regarding the state's infrastructure progress, claiming that misleading narratives were shared that a recently constructed highway in Assam was "generated by AI".
In a post on the social media platform X, Hazarika noted that for the last two days, certain factions affiliated with the Congress ecosystem have been trying to depict a legitimate highway initiative in Assam as a product of digital manipulation.
The minister asserted that these assertions are part of a calculated effort to diminish the infrastructure successes of the government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its partners in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
"The entire Congress ecosystem exhibits such disdain for Assam that they have spent two days promoting false news about a legitimate highway being AI-generated. Their usual so-called 'fact-checkers' have contributed to this deception," Hazarika expressed in his post.
He emphasized that these accusations have now been dismantled as unfounded and claimed that the critics are struggling to acknowledge the vast infrastructure advancements happening in the state under the current administration.
The minister highlighted that Assam has experienced remarkable growth in road and highway infrastructure in recent years, which he asserts has enhanced connectivity and bolstered economic development throughout the region.
Hazarika insisted that efforts to undermine such initiatives through misinformation campaigns will not be effective, reiterating that the government remains dedicated to expediting development efforts.
Political discourse regarding development claims has escalated recently in Assam, with leaders from opposing parties frequently utilizing social media to challenge each other’s narratives on governance and infrastructure.
The ruling coalition in the state has consistently emphasized road construction, enhanced connectivity, and urban infrastructure expansion as significant milestones, while opposition figures have questioned numerous claims made by the government about the speed and magnitude of development.
The latest statements from Hazarika have intensified the ongoing political rivalry between the ruling coalition and opposition parties over the development narrative in Assam.
