Chennai, Nov 1 (NationPress) The president of the Tamil Nadu BJP, Nainar Nagenthran, proclaimed that the countdown has officially begun for the downfall of the DMK government. He emphasized that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin's administration has "failed the populace on every front."
During a press briefing after honoring the legacy of the illustrious Chola emperor Raja Raja Cholan at the iconic Brihadeeswarar Temple in Thanjavur for the king's 1040th birth anniversary, Nagenthran highlighted Raja Raja Cholan's unparalleled vision, leadership, and administrative skills.
He remarked, "While many rulers have governed this nation, none have compared to the greatness of Raja Raja Cholan. His governance and architectural genius transformed the Chola Empire into a beacon of prosperity."
Nagenthran also recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi previously attended the millennium celebrations of Raja Raja Cholan’s descendant, Rajendra Cholan, at Gangaikonda Cholapuram—an event that, he argued, highlighted the global significance of Tamil culture and heritage.
He further stated that the BJP intends to approach the Centre regarding the installation of a statue of Emperor Raja Raja Cholan within the Brihadeeswarar Temple precincts, in collaboration with cultural experts and senior officials.
Addressing pressing issues, the BJP leader criticized the DMK government for "neglecting the struggles of farmers" in the Cauvery delta.
“The procurement of paddy has drastically fallen. Sacks of harvested grain are accumulating in storage facilities, with much beginning to sprout and decay. Trucks loaded with paddy have been stalled for days. Farmers are protesting, yet the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister are preoccupied with watching films instead of resolving their issues,” he alleged.
Nagenthran asserted that the DMK has not honored a single significant pre-election promise.
“This government has let down farmers, youth, and women. Its credibility has evaporated. Only 140 days remain before the end of the DMK’s misrule. The countdown has commenced,” he proclaimed.
He anticipates that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), spearheaded by the BJP, will triumph in the upcoming elections, stating, “The people of Tamil Nadu are ready for a shift, and the NDA will undoubtedly prevail.”
