Amaravati, May 6 (NationPress) - On Tuesday, the Amaravati Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) granted its approval for the establishment of residential towers dedicated to both gazetted and non-gazetted officers within the core capital area, with a financial outlay of Rs 1732.31 crore.
The decision was made during the 47th CRDA meeting, held at the State Secretariat and chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who announced that tenders for the residential towers will be called.
P. Narayana, the Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, informed reporters post-meeting that various works related to the capital city of Amaravati had been approved.
Tenders for constructing residential towers for gazetted officers amounting to Rs 514.41 crore were approved, with the project timeline spanning from 2014 to 2019. Additionally, works worth Rs 194.73 crore were sanctioned for developing external infrastructural facilities.
The construction of nine towers for non-gazetted officers, valued at Rs 506.67 crore, was also ratified. Furthermore, the CRDA approved plans for another twelve towers and essential facilities costing Rs 517.10 crore.
Narayana indicated that the meeting also sanctioned a water treatment plant capable of processing 190 MLD, along with five years of operation and maintenance, amounting to Rs 560.57 crore. The construction of overhead tanks, costing Rs 494.86 crore, was likewise approved.
Moreover, the CRDA has given the go-ahead for tenders related to the E-3, E-13, and E-15 connecting roads to national highways. The construction of a 1.5 km elevated road on the E-3 seed access road, along with 4.10 km on the E-13, has been approved with a budget of Rs 348.78 crore. The E-15 road will also see an extension of 3.98 km at a cost of Rs 70 crore.
The Cabinet committee's meeting on Tuesday approved land allotments to seven organizations within core capital areas. This includes 55 acres for a Law University, 50 acres for Quantum Valley, 0.78 acres for both the Income Tax department and Indian Red Cross Society, 0.40 acres for the Coastal Bank's head office, and one acre for IRCTC Hotels.
Narayana added that an additional six acres have been allocated for the Basavatarakam Cancer Institute, which had previously received 15 acres for a medical college. The government has already distributed land to 64 organizations, totaling 1,050 acres for 71 units.
