New Delhi, Feb 25 (NationPress) Australia’s Test captain Pat Cummins has vehemently condemned a media outlet for inaccurately quoting him regarding India’s location in the current ICC Champions Trophy.

Code Cricket, in a now-deleted post on X, claimed that Cummins criticized the ICC for granting India an unfair advantage in the Champions Trophy and labeled the tournament as a 'farce', asserting that teams should not have the liberty to select their match venues.

The fast bowler, sidelined from the tournament due to an ankle injury, took to social media on Tuesday to denounce the Australian digital sports platform for distorting his statements. “I have definitely never said this @codecricketau,” Cummins remarked on X.

This incident arose after Code Cricket published a post on Tuesday, alleging that Cummins had denounced the ICC for permitting India to play all their matches at one venue while other teams had to travel between Pakistan and Dubai. The publication suggested that Cummins was displeased with India having the ability to “pick and choose” their playing locations.

However, during an actual interview with Yahoo Australia, Cummins stated, “I think it's good in that the tournament can go on, but obviously, it does give them (India) a huge advantage playing on the same ground. They already look very strong, and they've got that obvious benefit of playing all their games there.”

India’s involvement in the Champions Trophy has sparked debates, with the team declining to travel to Pakistan due to ongoing political tensions. Consequently, all of India’s matches, including a potential final, are scheduled to be played at the Dubai International Stadium, while other teams are required to travel between Pakistan and Dubai for their games.
