New Delhi, Feb 25 (NationPress) Australia Test captain Pat Cummins has voiced his strong disapproval towards a media organization for inaccurately quoting him regarding India's location in the current ICC Champions Trophy.

Code Cricket, in a now-deleted post on X, claimed that Cummins criticized the unfair advantage the ICC has provided to India in the Champions Trophy, labeling the event as a 'farce' and asserting that teams should not have the ability to select their match venues.

The fast bowler, sidelined from the tournament due to an ankle injury, expressed his outrage on social media on Tuesday, calling out the Australian digital sports platform for misrepresenting his statements. "I have definitely never said this @codecricketau," Cummins remarked on X.

The controversy began after Code Cricket published a post on Tuesday, alleging that Cummins had condemned the ICC for permitting India to host all their matches at a single venue, while other teams are required to travel between Pakistan and Dubai. The publication suggested Cummins was dissatisfied with India having the ability to 'pick and choose' their match locations.

However, in a genuine interview with Yahoo Australia, Cummins stated, "I think it's good that the tournament can proceed, but it certainly gives them (India) a significant advantage playing on the same ground. They already appear very strong, and they possess that clear benefit of playing all their games there."

India's involvement in the Champions Trophy has been controversial, as the team has declined to travel to Pakistan due to political tensions. Consequently, all of India's matches, including a potential final, are being held at the Dubai International Stadium, while other teams must travel between Pakistan and Dubai for their games.
