New Delhi, Dec 28 (NationPress) In celebration of the birth centenary of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) conducted the "Atal Smriti Sammelans" across 23 Assembly constituencies this Sunday, aiming to impart his vision to the younger party members.
Pankaj Jain, the Convener of the Atal Smriti Sammelan Organising Committee, stated that the series was kicked off on December 25 by the BJP's Working President, Nitin Nabin.
He led the inaugural conference in the Kasturba Nagar Assembly constituency of Delhi.
From December 28 to 31, further "Atal Smriti Sammelans" will take place in the remaining 69 Assembly constituencies throughout Delhi.
During the Janakpuri Assembly gathering, Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood and senior BJP leader Sumit Bhasin shared their insights, as reported by the Delhi BJP.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, along with District party President Vijendra Dhama, addressed the attendees in the Jangpura Assembly constituency.
Sachdeva remarked that the late Prime Minister Vajpayee made numerous pivotal decisions, including the Pokhran nuclear tests, the Lahore Summit, and the Golden Quadrilateral project.
He highlighted that Vajpayee initiated various reforms to stimulate India's economic advancement.
"By delivering his address in Hindi at the United Nations, former PM Vajpayee significantly elevated the pride of the nation," Sachdeva mentioned.
"Whether through the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, the Golden Quadrilateral project linking major cities, or the Telecom Policy introduced in 1999, these initiatives have laid a strong foundation for India's holistic development," he added.
The Matiala Assembly conference featured Delhi Minister Parvesh Singh Verma and Delhi Development Authority Member Rajiv Babbar, according to a statement from Delhi BJP.
In the Shahdara Assembly conference, former Union Minister Harsh Vardhan and BJP MLA Sanjay Goyal addressed participants; the Okhla Assembly conference was led by former Mayor Nirmal Jain and BJP MLA Abhay Verma; the Timarpur conference was highlighted by Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh and NDMC member Dinesh Pratap Singh; while the Rohtas Nagar Assembly conference was addressed by former Union Minister Vijay Goel and BJP Spokesperson Nitin Tyagi.

Earlier, during his address, Delhi BJP President Sachdeva stated that the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee was an extraordinary leader who overcame numerous challenges in his life and served as India's Prime Minister on three occasions.
Born on December 25, 1924, in Gwalior, he began his career as a journalist before transitioning into politics.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee was instrumental in establishing the Bharatiya Jana Sangh in 1951 and held the position of President from 1968 to 1973.
He was also affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and made significant contributions to its expansion.
In 1980, he played a crucial role in the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party, as stated by the BJP's Delhi unit President Sachdeva.
