New Delhi, Dec 25 (NationPress) On the 101st birth anniversary of the esteemed former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, which coincides with Good Governance Day, heartfelt tributes flowed in from leaders across the political landscape. They remembered him as a visionary statesman who enhanced Indian politics and continues to motivate the Modi government in its pursuit of a ‘Viksit Bharat’.

Born on December 25, 1924, in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Vajpayee is celebrated as one of India’s most revered leaders, who served as Prime Minister on three occasions and played a vital role in molding the nation’s political and strategic framework.

Recognized for his exceptional blend of political insight and ethical authority, his legacy of leadership remains influential across generations.

Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, paid glowing tributes, emphasizing Vajpayee's significant contributions to Indian governance.

In a post on X, Shah remarked, “Atal ji established the BJP, offering a political alternative that prioritizes national interest and cultural nationalism.”

“From making India a nuclear-armed country to advocating for effective governance, under his guidance, the NDA government introduced a governance model that harmonized heritage with science. Atal ji’s mark on public service and organizational prowess in Indian politics is indelible,” he added.

J.P. Nadda, Union Health Minister and BJP National President, referred to Vajpayee as an inspiration to millions of party members, labeling him as “the Ajatshatru of Indian politics and the epitome of good governance.”

On X, Nadda expressed, “The esteemed Atal Ji devoted his life to creating a robust, prosperous, and self-sufficient India. From establishing the BJP to nurturing countless workers, he ignited the spirit of nationalism. His tenure saw pivotal moments like the nuclear tests at Pokhran and India’s triumph in the Kargil War, showcasing our strategic prowess globally.”

He further stated that Vajpayee’s visions will continue to guide the nation’s trajectory.

“His remarkable ideas and initiatives for national resurgence, governance, and the welfare of the underprivileged will consistently invigorate the commitment to construct a ‘Viksit Bharat’ under Prime Minister Modi,” the BJP chief remarked.

Rajnath Singh, Union Defence Minister, also paid his respects to Vajpayee, recalling him as a leader who championed democratic principles and institutional integrity.

“His life exemplified national service, democratic ideals, and the highest standards of good governance. Atal ji’s visionary leadership set a benchmark for governance rooted in accountability, transparency, and inclusive growth, a framework that continues to guide India today,” Singh stated in a social media post.

S. Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister, honored the former Prime Minister as a monumental figure in India's public sphere.

In his tribute, EAM Jaishankar noted, “A nationalist icon and distinguished statesman, his legacy in fortifying India’s democracy, economy, security, and infrastructure will forever be cherished.”
