PM Modi Commemorates Atal Bihari Vajpayee on His Centenary

New Delhi, Dec 25 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with various party leaders paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the occasion of his centenary on Wednesday.

In a post on X, PM Modi expressed, "Respectful tributes to former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji on his 100th birth anniversary. He dedicated his life to constructing a robust, prosperous, and self-sufficient India. His vision and mission will continue to empower the resolve for a Viksit Bharat."

He emphasized the importance of Vajpayee's legacy in a video message, stating, "Today, in tribute to Atal Jayanti, we celebrate 'Good Governance Day.' Good governance is when the Centre prioritizes service over power."

PM Modi encouraged citizens to fulfill their roles, noting, "Our goal should be to achieve our objectives on this 'Good Governance Day' in memory of Atalji. This is what the public expects, and it is a lesson that Atal Bihari Vajpayee imparted to us."

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid respects to Vajpayee, identifying him as a leader who initiated an era of development and effective governance.

"Atal ji transformed cultural nationalism into a work ethic, always prioritizing national security and public welfare. He popularized the BJP among the masses through his integrity and self-control in politics. Like the Pole Star, Atal ji will eternally guide the nation on the path of national service," Shah remarked.

BJP President and Union Minister J.P. Nadda, while paying tribute, praised Vajpayee's influence on Indian politics.

"The revered Atal Ji elevated the values of integrity and service in Indian politics. His role in establishing the nation as a global superpower is indelible," Nadda stated.

He further characterized Vajpayee's life as "an inspiration" and extended greetings on 'Good Governance Day,' indicating that the day symbolizes Vajpayee's commitment to comprehensive national development.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also joined in paying respects, referring to Vajpayee as "a cornerstone of independent Indian politics."

"Atal ji set new benchmarks in both politics and diplomacy, dedicating his life to crafting a strong and prosperous India," Singh commented, adding, "His immense contributions to India’s advancement can never be overstated. Today, as we commemorate his 100th birth anniversary, I extend my humble tribute to him."

Vajpayee, celebrated as a statesman and visionary leader, served as India's Prime Minister on three occasions and played a crucial role in molding modern India. His leadership continues to motivate millions throughout the nation.
