Delhi BJP Leaders Spend Night in 1,194 Slum Areas

New Delhi, Dec 15 (NationPress) In an effort to connect with voters residing in slum areas, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva led a team of party leaders and workers on Sunday to participate in a program that involved overnight stays and engaging in dialogue across 1,194 slum clusters in the city.

This overnight initiative is part of the Delhi BJP's ongoing “Slum Expansion Campaign”, which has been active for the past five months, during which the party has appointed slum caretakers.

According to Vishnu Mittal, the State General Secretary and the coordinator of this campaign, Sachdeva spent the night at Rajiv Camp and Krishna Market, Jhilmil in East Delhi. Simultaneously, other party leaders and volunteers engaged in conversations with slum residents over dinner in approximately 1,194 slum clusters to listen to their issues and explore potential solutions directly from them.

BJP National General Secretary Dushyant Gautam visited Aram Bagh, Paharganj; Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta went to Badli Industrial Area; MP Ramveer Singh Bidhuri spent time at VP Camp, Tughlakabad; Yogendra Chandolia visited HMB Jhuggi; Kamaljeet Sahrawat visited Matiala Goyla Dairy; Praveen Khandelwal went to Shriram Chowk, Wazirpur Industrial Area; Bansuri Swaraj visited Bindusar Camp, Greater Kailash; State General Secretary Vishnu Mittal was at JJ Camp, Anand Vihar; BJP Leader Sardar Arvinder Singh Lovely visited Chandrapuri Jhuggi Basti; National Minister Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa went to Shyam Nagar Jhuggi, Rajouri Garden; Jammu & Kashmir’s Co-incharge Ashish Sood visited JJ Colony, Pankha Road; Former State President Harsh Vardhan engaged with Safeda Basti, JJ Camp, Krishna Nagar; Adesh Gupta visited Flying Club DID; Former MP Pravesh Sahib Singh spent time at BR Camp, Teen Murti; and Ramesh Bidhuri stayed at Karpoori Thakur Camp.

BJP leader Kailash Gehlot visited the CISF camp in Bijwasan, while MLA Abhay Verma visited Harijan Basti Sonia Camp Mandawali. Omprakash Sharma explored New Sanjay Amar Colony, Mohan Singh Bisht went to C.K.J. Basti Seelampur, Jitendra Mahajan visited Cluster No. 7 Lal Bagh Jhuggi, Anil Bajpai went to Chandrapur JJ Colony, Kartar Singh Tanwar visited Sanjay Singh Colony Mehr Chand House, Rajkumar Anand visited Baljeet Nagar, Leader of Opposition in MCD Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh visited Autram Basti, Jai Bhagwan Yadav went to Shahabad Dairy, Office Minister Brijesh Rai visited Sanjay Basti Timarpur, and Co-Office Minister Amit Gupta explored Majnu Ka Tila Cluster for their night stays.

Delhi unit chief Sachdeva announced that the BJP is the first political entity whose representatives have been directly interacting with the populace, particularly the youth, in all the jhuggi clusters in Delhi over the last five months, gaining insight into their challenges and solutions.

Sachdeva remarked that through our workers operating as Jhuggi Vistarks, we have gained a deeper understanding of the lives and challenges faced by residents of the Jhuggi clusters. “We are participants in their lives, and the forthcoming BJP government in Delhi will improve their lives through DUSIB,” he stated.

Dushyant Gautam emphasized that the leadership of our party, from the foundation laid by Jansangh founder Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has consistently adhered to the principles of Antyodaya. The BJP government we will establish in Delhi by February 2025 is committed to serving the most disadvantaged individuals,” he expressed.
